China’s Ministry of Defense officially confirmed on late Tuesday that there had been casualties in the Chinese army during the latest China-India violent clash in Ladakh, but did not reveal the exact number, while foreign media reported that there had been 20 Indians killed and 35 or 43 casualties in the Chinese army in violent clashes between China and India on June 15 and 16. But according to some messages circulating on several Chinese websites, no Chinese troops have died.
One typical unconfirmed and unidentified source, in the tone of a military officer, stated that:
“The roll call (of the Chinese side) is basically complete, three members of the team have been hit hard on the head with a rock, two are conscious, they have been stitched and the injuries are fine.
