Biography of Dong Jun

Dong Jun, Male, originally from Yantai, Shandong Province, was born in 1961. He graduated from Dalian Naval Academy.

Early Career and Education:
In 1978, Dong Jun was admitted to Dalian Naval Academy. Upon his graduation, he joined the Navy and began a long-term service in naval headquarters.

Career Progression:
Dong Jun’s career in the Navy saw a steady progression through various significant roles:
– He served as the Director of the Military Training Department at the Navy Headquarters.
– He was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the North Sea Fleet.
– He took on the role of Commander of Naval Unit 92269.

Promotions and Key Appointments:
July 2012: At the age of 51, Dong Jun was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.
2013: He was appointed Deputy Commander of the East Sea Fleet.
December 2014: Dong Jun transitioned to the role of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy.
January 2017: He became the Leader of the Guangdong-based Troops.
March 2017: He was promoted to Deputy Commander of the Southern Theater Command.

On December 25, CCTV’s “Xinwen Lianbo” broadcast showed Dong Jun seated in the front row of the podium during the promotion ceremony for the rank of Admiral.
