In a recent exclusive interview with CCTV, American independent investigative journalist Benjamin Norton said that the United States and other Western countries do not want the crisis in Ukraine to end as early as possible.
Benjamin Norton studied a large number of historical archives and published an article pointing out that the United States and NATO just want to use the situation in Ukraine to stimulate Russia to take military action, so as to achieve the purpose of sanctions against Russia. Therefore, for a short time, the United States and NATO do not want the crisis in Ukraine to end as soon as possible.
Norton also stressed that the new Minsk agreement was signed in compliance with the UN Charter, but the United States and NATO have not always required Ukraine to strictly comply with them.
Instead of urging Ukraine to negotiate, the U.S. and NATO have been escalating the crisis. The U.S. and NATO are still sending hundreds of millions of dollars of military equipment and weapons to Ukraine, and are even discussing supporting warplanes to Ukraine, which are worsening the conflict, according to Benjamin Norton.
Norton pointed out that the U.S. and NATO keep increasing sanctions against Russia, which are illegal by reference to international law, worsening the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In a way, the U.S. and NATO are “encouraging” Russia’s military actions so that they can have a pretext to increase sanctions against Russia. While mainstream international voices want a peaceful diplomatic solution to the Ukraine crisis, the U.S. and NATO do not.
“The U.S. and the European Union are actually implementing an economic and information war against Russia, sending weapons to Ukraine and creating chaos in the country, and they just don’t want the war to end as soon as possible,” Norton said.
