Leung Chun-ying: British spies are everywhere in Hong Kong

On January 13, the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom published on its website a spokesman’s question and answer on the British side’s “political interference activities,” saying that China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

“We have no need to and will not ‘buy’ foreign parliamentarians. We firmly oppose some people smearing and intimidating the Chinese community in the UK.”

In addition, Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former chief executive of Hong Kong, said in a Facebook post that Hong Kong Commercial Radio reported today that “Britain’s MI5 named Li Zhenju, a Chinese who works as a lawyer in Britain, as a Chinese spy trying to infiltrate Parliament and interfere in Britain’s internal affairs.”

Citing a report in the Hong Kong media that the so-called “connecting with the CCP and parliamentarians through donations to the political circles, and the donations came from mainland China and Hong Kong”, Leung said that if this is an act of espionage, there are too many British spies in Hong Kong, they are directly and indirectly donating money as barristers, professors, NGOs, to reach out to legislators and promote the “agenda” of Western. These people are all spies!

At the end of the post, Leung said that the British MI5 is a counter-intelligence department, which is obviously smearing.

In the Facebook comments section, some netizens left messages saying they “agree with what Mr. Leung said” and said, “It is already commonplace for US departments to smear China everywhere. But this time, even MI5 has to smear China, but from the opposite direction, this proves that China has surpassed the United States and become more and more powerful.”
