A group of high-definition photos of Type 075 amphibious assault ships was revealed on the Internet on August 6, Beijing time. The No.2 and No.3 Type 075 ships appeared in the same photo. It is understood that the 075-2 ship has recently conducted multiple sea trials.
Type 075 amphibious assault ship is the first large-scale amphibious warship designed by China, and a total of 3 ships have been built.
On September 25, 2019, a launching ceremony was held for the first ship in Shanghai, and the second ship was launched on April 22, 2020. On August 27, 2020, the Type 075 amphibious assault ship successfully completed the first phase of the navigation test. On January 29, 2021, the third ship was launched.
On April 23, 2021, the first Type 075 amphibious assault ship, the Hainan ship, entered service with port number 31.
Since the first 075 was commissioned, the outside world has paid much attention to the service time of the second and third ships.
On September 25, 2019, the first ship of 075 was launched. After 10 months of outfitting, the first sea trial began on August 5, 2020. It took about 340 days from launch to maiden voyage.
The second ship was launched on April 22, 2020, just before April 23 – the Chinese Navy Memorial Day. On December 22nd, the second ship began its sea trial. From launching to sea trial, it took 245 days for the second ship. 95 days less compared with the 340 days of the first ship. This shows that the construction and outfitting speed of the second ship is significantly faster than that of the first ship. In addition, the second ship encountered the COVID-19 pandemic during its outfitting, and the construction period was somewhat affected.
There was speculation that the second ship of Type 075 would enter service on July 1 this year, but from the current situation, the service time of the second ship should be October 1 this year. The third ship could be commissioned around the Spring Festival – in Jan or Feb 2022.
It is speculated that “Fujian” and “Hebei” are the most possible names for No.2 and No.3 Type 075 amphibious assault ships, which will probably be commissioned in the East China Sea Fleet and the South China Sea Fleet respectively.
