An Australian politician said worryingly on July 27 that the Australian military is not a match for China in 10 years, and the U.S. military, betrayed by spies, is weaker than expected and will most likely lose the war and not be able to help, according to Chinese media.

It’s reported that on July 27, Australian Liberal Party Senator and former Army Major General Jim Molan said in an interview with Australian media “Sky News” that Australia needs to start accepting and preparing to go to war with China. But he also warned, “If China wants to go to war with us, we will be defeated within 48 hours.”

When asked whether there would be a full-scale war in the Pacific, Jim Molan replied that he did not think that war would happen, but “the possibility of war is greater than most people are willing to admit.”

“The situation of the Americans is quite bad – they have been betrayed.” He said that from some secrets that have been leaked if there is a conflict with China, the US military is “very likely” to be defeated.

Jim Molan also praised the “excellence” and “smartness” of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) but emphasized that the Australian Army is not an opponent of China at all. “The ADF is too weak… can’t last a few days. No effort is enough, because they don’t have enough strength to defend this country. At least for 10 years, our army is still not strong enough.”

But Jim Molan said that for Australia, it is not all doom and pessimism. He emphasized that the main global conflict occurs between China and the United States. “I don’t think we will be attacked. China’s target is not us, China’s target is the United States.”
