The Chinese Navy’s special operations detachment used a new type of man-portable system to carry out raid exercises, including starry camouflage and a new Type CS/LS7 submachine gun, according to pictures released by the Chinese Navy today.
“The special operations detachment conducted difficult and strict raid drills in order to refine the officers and soldiers’ comprehensive qualities, indomitable will and superb special operations skills.”
According to public information, the Chinese Navy special brigade was established in December 2002, independent of the Marine Corps, is the Navy’s special operations forces, a regiment-level establishment. In February 2012, its designation was changed to Naval Special Operations Regiment. In April 2017, the Naval Special Operations Regiment was transferred to the Marine Corps. In May of the same year, it was expanded and upgraded to Special Operations Brigade, designated as the Seventh Marine Corps Brigade.
