The Chinese military website recently released a set of photos of a division of the Air Force in the Eastern Theater conducting flight training on Feb. 19. The photos show that the division is equipped with the new H-6J bombers based on the original H-6K.
The H-6J, which can carry up to seven YJ-12 supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles and can mount self-defense jamming pods, was previously in service with the Chinese Naval Air Force. Last July, China’s Southern Theater Naval Air Forces’ H-6J bombers were trained against U.S. aircraft carriers in the South China Sea.
