In a recent interview with China’s CCTV, Z-20’s chief engineer Deng Jinghui said that the Z-20 is China’s first homemade helicopter to achieve fly-by-wire flight control. The fly-by-wire control system cancels the mechanical lever of the original traditional system, which makes its control and agility better, and the weight is greatly reduced.
Not long ago, Z-20 helicopter flying on the plateau shows that it has solved two key technical problems, namely, the “Chinese Heart” suitable for plateau flying – a new domestic turboshaft engine of China, and a rotor anti-icing system. These two key technological breakthroughs have made Z-20 a true “plateau eagle”, according to reports.
“My greatest wish is its series development, not only to serve our army, but also to serve our air force, navy, and armed police. We also hope that this type of function will become an evergreen tree,” said Z-20’s chief engineer Deng Jinghui in the interview with CCTV. And Deng also hopes that Z-20 can go abroad as soon as possible.
Judging from the information disclosed so far, the armed Z-20 equipped with door machine guns, the ship-borne transport Z-20 with navy paint, and the anti-submarine Z-20 equipped with anti-submarine equipment are all under development.
