According to a recent photo of the first Type 075 amphibious assault ship of the Chinese Navy, the new warship is about to be launched and should be preparing for a launching ceremony.
There was a time when the Chinese army could only rely on thousands of fishing boats for landing operations. And by the beginning of the 21st century, the Chinese navy only had less than 20 small and medium-sized landing craft. At that time, the PLA Navy was actually unlikely to carry out large-scale amphibious operations because one-time delivery was too weak and the delivery speed was too low to form enough superiority at the destination beach.
With the strengthening of national strength, the Chinese Navy officially started the development of Type 075 amphibious assault ship in 2011. This is an amphibious combat platform project with a displacement of more than 30,000 tons and can even be developed into a helicopter carrier.
The goal of this project is to improve the helicopter-oriented “vertical” amphibious landing attack capability while acquiring the ability to use the traditional landing ship’s armored landing force to achieve world-class amphibious landing strike power.
In any case, various aerial and on-site images show that the construction of this giant warship is quite fast.
Photographs of the shipyards in East China show that after installing various radar, radio and optoelectronic equipment, large-scale display steel frames has been set up to celebrate its launching.
Since the first cut of steel at the end of 2017, Type 075 amphibious assault ship has taken shape and will be launched soon.
